Which One Are You Planning?
Brunches, luncheons and afternoon teas for the bride who has already seen every catering hall on Long Island. A garden setting indoors, whatever the weather is doing outside.
A room that photographs beautifully without a single balloon arch, for parents who would rather the day felt like a celebration than a themed party.

If You've Hosted One Before
Nobody Warns You About The Decorating.

Hosting a shower usually starts the same way. You find a room, a restaurant back room, a catering hall, a rented hall with a folding-table smell, & it's fine. Blank, beige & just fine.
Then you spend six weeks making it beautiful. Balloon garlands, a backdrop, centerpieces you will never use again, linens for tables you have not seen. You set it all up on a Saturday morning while the guest of honor is kept busy elsewhere, then take it back down that evening.
Here is what hosts on Long Island typically spend on that:
Balloon garland or backdrop installation
Floral centerpieces & arrangements
Linens, chargers & table styling rental
Your own time, setting up & breaking down
Total:
$1,350+ Time Spent
All of it goes into correcting a room. None of it reaches the person you are throwing the shower for.

Why Hosts Choose Us
A Shower Venue Where The Hard Part is Already Done.
The Grove Season is an immersive event venue on Middle Country Road in Lake Grove. Greenery & florals across the ceiling, gold chandeliers, antique mirrors & vintage seating are installed before you book.
Here is what that changes for a host.

01. You Skip the Décor Budget
No balloon garland, no backdrop rental, no centerpieces to throw away. Most hosts at our Long Island shower venue bring flowers for the guest of honor and nothing else.

02. You Skip the Setup Morning
We set the room and clear it. No eight-in-the-morning carload of decorations, no stacking chairs at the end of a long afternoon.

03. No Per-Head Package
There is no food and beverage minimum, because we do not sell food. Bring the caterer, bakery or restaurant you actually want, including the one making the cake.

04. The Photos Are the Gift
Every corner is composed, so phone photos look like ones you paid for. The guest of honor keeps those.

05. One Shower at a Time
The whole venue is yours. No second party through the wall, no shared lobby, and nobody from another event wandering through your photographs.

06. Easy for Every Guest
We are on Route 25 in Lake Grove, minutes from Smith Haven Mall. Step-free entry and parking outside the door, which matters when grandparents are coming.

Included With EVery Shower
Most showers on Long Island run three to four hours. The format you choose changes the guest count, the catering and how the room is set.
The most popular by a distance. Seated or stations, mimosas, everyone home by mid-afternoon.
Long tables, three courses, speeches between. The most traditional format, & easiest for older guests.
Tiered stands, pastries, sparkling wine. Suits smaller counts & lets the florals do the work.
Standing, flowing, lounge groupings. Increasingly common for co-ed showers.

Planning Guides
How to Plan a Shower Without Losing a Month
Two timelines, written from watching hosts do this well & watching them do it the hard way.
Traditionally hosted by the maid of honor or the bridal party, often with the mother of the bride. Held two to four months before the wedding.
Three to four months out, ask the bride two questions. Who is on the guest list, & does she want a surprise. Everything else follows from those two answers.
Twelve weeks out, lock the date & venue. Spring weekends go first on Long Island. Check it against the wedding timeline so it misses fittings and the bachelorette.
Ten weeks out, set the budget & who shares it. Have this conversation with the bridal party before anyone books. Awkward early beats resentful later.
Eight weeks out, send invitations. Earlier if guests are traveling. Include the registry link, any dress code, & whether it is a surprise.
Six weeks out, book catering & the cake. With no per-head package here, you choose freely. Collect dietary needs as RSVPs arrive.
Two weeks out, confirm the count & the run of the day. Write the order down and give it to one person who is not you.
The week of, delegate three things. Cards, a gift log for thank-you notes, and a driver for everything afterwards.
Usually hosted by a close friend, sister or parent, and typically held in the third trimester, around weeks 28 to 34, early enough to be comfortable.
Three months out, agree the date & guest list. Ask directly about a co-ed shower, & about who she would rather not invite.
Ten weeks out, book the venue. Choose one that can move the date if needed. Babies arrive on their own schedule.
Eight weeks out, confirm the registry is live. Guests shop the moment invitations land, and an empty registry is the most common avoidable frustration.
Seven weeks out, send invitations. Registry, date, surprise or not. Note parking & step-free access — older relatives plan around it.
Five weeks out, catering & cake. Keep it light and easy to eat standing, and skip anything the guest of honor cannot have.
Three weeks out, plan the flow, not the games. Two short games are plenty. Guests remember the room, not the third round of charades.
The week of, assign a gift recorder & a driver. New parents should not be solving that at six in the evening.
Celebrate at The Grove
Because the installation carries the space, a theme here means a palette, a cake & a few details, not a full build.
The room's natural register. Pastel linens, loose florals, lemonade in glass pitchers.
Lemons, blue & white, terracotta. The most photographed shower theme going, and it suits this ceiling.
Vintage china, tiered stands, pastel roses. Beautiful against the antique mirrors, & older guests love it.
Cream, sage, natural wood. The most requested baby direction right now, & it needs the least from you.
Books as risers & favors, soft blues & creams. Charming without tipping into a children's party.
Cocktails, candlelight, no games. What second-time parents increasingly ask tor.
Invitation Inspiration
Wording That Answers Questions
The prettiest invitation still fails if a guest has to text you to ask what time it starts or where to park. Say the necessary things first, then be charming.

Before You Ask
The full list lives on our FAQ page. These are the ones hosts ask first.
Rates depend on the day, season and length of booking. Weekdays and Sunday mornings are meaningfully less than Saturdays. Full pricing comes with our first reply, within one business day — before any tour.
It depends on format — a seated luncheon, a brunch with stations and a standing cocktail shower each fit different numbers. Send your count and we will answer honestly, including if it does not work.
No. We do not provide catering at all. Bring the caterer, restaurant or bakery you want, including the one making the cake. Our preferred list is a suggestion, never a requirement.
No, because we do not sell food or beverage — you are renting the room. That is unusual among Long Island shower venues, where most quote a per-head package with a spend floor.
Yes, though most hosts need far less than expected. We ask about anything attaching to the installation, open flame, confetti and glitter. Enclosed candles are fine.
Yes, through a licensed caterer or bar service holding its own New York State liquor license & insurance. New York caps one-day permits at four per location per year, so a licensed service is the reliable route.
Most book two to six months out, with spring weekends going furthest ahead. Shorter timelines are worth asking about — we host one event at a time, so our calendar moves differently.
Tell us as soon as you know and we will move the date where the calendar allows. Nobody should be arguing about a deposit in that situation. Full terms are on the FAQ page.
